GPT-6 Intelligent UI: what OpenAI announced

On October 7, OpenAI announced GPT-6 with Intelligent UI for ChatGPT: answers can combine text with interactive components such as charts and forms. The company says the rollout starts with paid tiers, expands to Free and Go on October 8, and depends on administrator settings for Enterprise. The release concerns Chat; it does not change the models powering Work and Codex.

A useful interface still needs reliable inputs

Our analysis: an interactive answer can make a complicated choice easier to explore, but attractive presentation does not establish that its numbers are correct. A comparison chart can look precise while omitting a subscription fee, using an outdated specification or mixing different units.

When evaluating a generated calculator, check one simple case manually. If a bill splitter divides a £60 bill among three people with no extras, the expected result is £20 each. Add one variable at a time and confirm that the interface handles it correctly. This is an illustrative evaluation method, not a report of testing this release.

For research, ask where the underlying facts came from and whether they were retrieved recently. Follow the source rather than relying on a chart label. If the information affects a purchase, confirm the current price and regional availability with the provider.

Start with nonsensitive tasks

Try a public document or an invented example before entering client records or account details. A form inside a conversation deserves the same care as a text box: inspect what information it requests, why it needs it and whether the task can work with less.

A useful first comparison is to ask for both a plain explanation and an interactive version of the same question. Keep the format that makes the assumptions easiest to see. Visual complexity is useful only when it helps you make a better decision.
